Bell ornament nearly finished

Well I ran out of my boucle #233 Ed Mar thread 
 So I’m going to have to order another skein. Actually there is a needlepoint shop near me I want to check out in hopes they have it in stock. Inside that stitch I used a variegated green and lavender color by threadworx #1134another specialty thread I used was also by threadworx and these two were the legacy line all sparkly and glittery. The first was a silver, light green and lavender variegated #634
And the other was a deep purple #601and since this pattern was a freebie on the internet I thought I would share it here
And without further ado here is the almost completed ornament. I may still add some iridescent blending filiment around the plus signs inside the diamonds. What do you think. Should I add it or keep it as is?

Progress on Patches

I have been working hard on my Garden Sampler and thought you would enjoy seeing my progress.

The bottom left square was really fun to stitch because a one point I had to stitch with a needle in each hand as the stitches had to be anchored to get them into the right shape. So far I’m absolutely loving stitching this.

Patches- A Garden Sampler

I just started a new needlepoint project called Patches- A garden Sampler by Lois Caron 2007 #8143

Here is my first block. I love how this is looking. It’s the first needlepoint project I picked out from my old needlework shop. I saw it done up on the wall and I just knew would want to stitch it. 

Here is the first block I worked on and the first step in it. 

And here is block one and two finished. I started in the middle so it would be perfectly centered. 

And all three done ✅...61 to go. 

Here it is on the stitching stand. I love how this looks. Can’t wait to do more but my bottom was getting sore from sitting.

A scarf 🧣 for my sweetheart

Here is the scarf 🧣 I made for jim. It’s made from a chunky Bernet yarn made up of four strands. Two blue and two orange to represent our favorite baseball team the Detroit Tigers. 

I think he looks fetching. He got to try it out here when  he went out to clean the snow off of the cars 🚗.

Ornaments galore

Wanted to share some of my favorite ornaments and what I’ve been stitching lately 
Here is the Christmas tree which if you wear glasses ends up looking 3 dimensional somehow but we only notice that when wearing glasses. Anyone know why that happens.

Pam made this one at her Delta Kappa Gamma teachers society Women in the Arts retreat this past fall. It’s made out of wine corks.

I made this from an ornament coloring book. Notice it’s 3D.

Merry Christmas from my house to yours. 

An Evening Well Spent

It feels so good to be back to blogging again. Here is what I got accomplished today. 







Found my bigger scissors that match my little scissor and here are my scissor cards I needlepointed on plastic canvas and a cute tin a stitching friend made me a few years ago. Also my favorite sewing basket and I added a patch from my favorite place in the world 🌎 Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. And the Soo Locks are my favorite place there. For those of you that don’t know this is where Lake Huron and Lake Superior meet on the St. Mary’s River. The locks raise and lower the Great Lakes freighters and Salty's (ocean going ships) 🚢. I buy patches all the time and add them to things and to coats. 


Here is my next project...to make a pair of socks. And I love this devotional Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. Hope you all have a wonderful evening. I will leave you with a sweet picture of my service dog 🐕 Lila.  







This was a crèche that my dear grandmother 👵 Dorothy Hare made of ceramics in 1956. My parents gave it to me this year and I am so grateful.  This will be treasured forever in my family.
