Needlepoint heaven

The other day after having lunch with my parents my mom mentioned some holiday decorations she wanted to give me. I have been making scissor cases and eyeglasses cases using plastic canvas and doing needlepoint/canvaswork on them. I had brought her and dad one of each. She was so thrilled to have something to protect her scissors ✂️ eapecially when traveling so I offer to make a case for each pit she owned. Mom does a lot of knitting for friends, family, charities, and sometimes herself. She says it’s really good for her arthritis in her hands.....so anyways she told me she wondered if I could use her leftover scraps of yarn for my needlepoint and of course I snatched that offer up in a hurry. Yesterday I designed as I went this lovely bookmark. I just googled needlepoint stitches to choose the one I wanted to use when I ran out of ideas and I am so pleased with what I chose.

I am just thrilled at how well it turned out:) After that I decided to try to stitch a quilt design using a simple scotch stitch and many different colors. I only wish I had thought of adding borders before I started the actual main part of the quilt.

Now I plan to add some orange and pink to make it pop and just cycle through the other colors again. I’m using  Bernet sock wool yarn.

Last night I was also able to get some coloring from my 3D Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ ornaments. I am adding one to some of my Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ cards. I truely enjoy the whole process of getting my yearly Christmas  filled out and sent. It brings back childhood memories of helping my mom address her Christmas cards together over a cup of hot tea ☕️ with carols being played on the record player. Yes I am that old... LOL...to remember records. I even still have one and many records to go with. There is just something soothing about listening to music ๐ŸŽถ on a record player.

And now I will leave you with these remaining thoughts. In al the hustle and bustle and distractions of the holidays take a moment each day to reflect on what it is all really about. The Bible tells us if we knock He will open the door to us, if we seek Him sincerely we will find him and if we ask it will be given to us. I pray that you take time to seek him with tour whole heart. He loves you so much more than you could ever know...so much he came to earth ๐ŸŒ over 2000 years ago as a humble poor boy to be treated horrible, abused, mocked, tormented, rejected. And abandoned all to make a way for us so that we can be made right with him and spend eternity with him forever. What a precious gift he has given us. Lord Jesus thankyou so much for dying on the cross for all of us  in Jesus name I pray Amen

Easter

Here is what we had for Easter ๐Ÿฃ dinner. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach
Turns out my eyes were too big for my tummy;) and this yummy cranberry pineapple turkey salad the next day. And here is Pam with all our yummy Easter Bunny goodies. I think ๐Ÿ’ญ Lila had more than her share of good food too and is now sacked out. Happy Easter everyone

More coloring and an owl

And here you have my latest creation of the die cut animals. For those of you wondering where to get these I found this pack which still has a shark and a black cat left to stitch. Looking for ideas to finish as ornaments. Anyone have ideas? And here is what I have been working on from the book A Walk in the Garden. I would've liked my duck to turn out more but it needs more shading I think. Love how the turtle turned out. This is from the same book and I just have a little more to do and then the sky and dirt path backgrounds. I will probably watercolor those. I absolutely love how this one turned out. I love the bright colors and the shading and layering I learned how to do. I did this one on Easter. And below is one I did from a small travel size book my dsil gave me. Isn't he the cutest. Blessings

Cardinal Pair

Yesterday we had a sweet pair of cardinals that I just adore their colors. I think how perfect Gods creatures are and how creative He must really be. Do you have a favorite flower?
Yesterday I made country style spare ribs and sauerkraut with frozen peas. There is a story behind this recipe. I learned it from a lady I took care of and lived with my summer before my senior year. It was delicious

Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ decorations

Stitching animal die cuts

So here is what I've been doing lately. I found these adorable die cuts to stitch on. They came with a pattern book and so some of the threads I have used are what they suggested and others are my own choice. The bird I used water lilies silk floss. TThis little polar bear is one of my favorites. I love this rose sweater she is wearing๐Ÿ˜€And this comes from my dazzling dogs coloring bbook.

  Have a blessed day

Stitching hearts

Here is my gift for mom tomorrow. Today is her birthday and Friday is mine. We usually try to get together in between for a meal.
I got these off of eBay a long time ago and hadn't gotten to them. I was going to make this one into an ornament but when I saw this when looking for things to add to it I knew this would be perfect and super easy. You just cut out the pattern on the back and press it into the teeth. Mom loves anything handmade and jewelry so I think this will go over and
Here you can see my ThreadWorx floss, the free pattern, and the necklace. Looking forward to seeing how it goes over. Here is the back and how it works.

Onto my daily thoughts on faith and our Lord. Something that He showed me in a dream the other day really got my attention. It started with the day before when we had the TV on while playing ball in the house with Lila my service dog. I kept getting distracted and before I knew it I was staring at the tv and totally forgot about playing ball. Just being honest. Anyhoo it happened twice and then I asked to mute it. That got my attention of how easily I get distracted by things. So then I had this dream where it showed how satan uses things like TV and other worldly things to lure us in to spend way too much time watching TV and others things instead of spending our time doing things with family or God. The dream showed a room of people just sucked into the tv and instead of nourishing relationships, getting excercise and spending time with God. And satan was just sitting there laughing at how easily we a influenced or led astray just like sheep. Thank goodness we have a Shepherd who has redeemed us. He's got lots of good meaningful things for us to do here on earth. I e learned through this that I need to be mindful of what and how much I spend time doing things that can suck me in and steal precious time I can't get back. With that said I like watching some tv. I like good family shows. We have a program called PureFlix. It's a streaming video network that is all Christian programming.  It really is great. Dove has one too. Hope all this blesses you today.
